General: True perculas are what many people think of when thinking of clownfish. Their distinct black markings set them apart from ocellaris clowns, but they also have some differences in care. Perculas are more sensitive than ocellaris clowns needing more stable conditions and better nutrition to survive. It is most likely their wild origins which makes them less adapt at captive life.
