Rare Clown Hawkfish at Oculus Aquatics
Oculus Aquatics is usually known for their rare and beautiful corals, but this week they are showing off an extremely rare hawkfish instead. The clown hawkfish, Cirrhitus rivulatus, is not your typical hawk reaching an unusually large size and getting extremely aggressive. These monsters are even known to attempt eating fish as large as themselves, however, for those with large fish aggressive tanks, this could be that fish that really sets their collection apart from the rest. Lightning Maroon Clownfish Spawning Announced by Matt Pedersen

This ongoing project has been shooting for the stars with the goal of getting some more lightning maroon clowns out of the half pair for longer than most would have patience for, but with the amazing looks of these fish, it should soon be worth it.

Tunze DOC 9430 Protein Skimmer to Replace 9440
Tunze announced recently that the old double-pump 9440 protein skimmer will be replaced with a new, more efficient, single pump version with the designation DOC 9430. This new design achieves nearly the same rating, but it’s single pump does it with a power savings over the old twin-pumps and this also means fewer parts to fail and less to clean.
