Diet: Eats both animal foods, plant matter and sponge

Temperament: Peaceful

General: Moorish idols are perhaps the most difficult fish to keep that is commonly imported. Their wild diets consist largely of sponges which are hard to replicate in aquariums. These fish should be reserved for only the most experienced hobbyist. Moorish idols may nip at large polyp stony corals and clam mantles.
