Common names: Horn coral, Knob, Velvet Horn, or Branch Coral

Difficulty Level: Hydnophora is one of the least sensitive of SPS corals but still requires conditions more likely to be produced by experienced hobbyists.

Feeding: These corals feed on small suspension type foods

Lighting (Level 7 to 10): Hydnophora needs high lighting to thrive. As always take care when acclimating to high light to avoid bleaching.

Water flow: These corals do well with moderate to high water flow.

Placement: Hydnophora is one of the most aggressive SPS corals and should be kept away from others.

General: These corals belong to a large family with many different growth forms. They can be found in plating, encrusting and branching types.
