Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse, Rainbow Cleaner Wrasse

Labroides dimidiatus

Size: 4 inches

Minimum tank size: 30 gallons

Reef safe: With caution. When maturity is reached some may nip at small polyp stony polyps and clam mantles.

Diet: Meat based foods

Temperament: Social

General: Cleaner wrasses are generally hard to keep healthy due to the nutritional requirements only available from cleaning fish. They fair best in larger tanks with enough inhabitants to clean for diet supplementation. Hawaiian cleaner wrasses are particularly beautiful specimens, but they are also very sensitive to shipping. Be sure to carefully examine a specimen eating before purchase. Cleaner wrasses may be used to slow down the infection of marine ich, but should never be purchased for this purpose alone.
