Emperor Angelfish
Emperor Angelfish, Imperator Angelfish
Pomacanthus imperator
Size: 16 inches
Minimum tank size: 220 gallons
Reef safe: No will nip at large polyp stony corals, soft corals and clam mantles.
Diet: Consumes both animal and plant foods
Temperament: Territorial
General: Emperor angels get quite large and need a very large tank with a lot of rock for grazing to be kept healthy. As juveniles they rarely bother sessile inverts, but upon reaching maturity, they will nip at large polyp stony corals, soft corals and clam mantles. Adults can become territorial towards other angels, so plenty of space and hiding places are essential to keeping other angels with them.
