Common names: clove polyp coral, clove coral, eight tentacle polyps

Difficulty Level: Clove polyps are extremely tolerant and a great choice for beginners.

Feeding: Clove polyps are primarily photosynthetic, but may catch some small particles with their feathers.

Lighting (Level 4 to 7): Clove polyps will adapt to almost any type of lighting.

Water flow: Low to moderate water flow is preferable, but they will adapt to most conditions.

Placement: Clove polyps have a slight sting which should be taken in to account, but it is their quick growth rate that should be considered the most. Leave them plenty of room to fully extend and grow.

General: Clove polyps are a great beginner coral and are very easy to frag.
