So, I had a whole thing written about my latest travels……………..but it didn’t seem right. Something else was tugging at me, begging to be written about. I thought maybe it was a little more important, so here we go. I wanted to write about the effects of so many hobbyists turning to online sales, and the fact that it seems as though we are leaving our local fish stores to fend for themselves. At this point I’ve probably visited hundreds of different fish stores from California to Florida, and the resentment is ALWAYS there.

It’s no wonder Tung Choi Street is commonly referred to as Fish Street or Goldfish Street. Two blocks of this avenue in Hong Kong are literally packed wall to wall with fish shops and open air fish markets. Primarily known as a selling area of goldfish and freshwater plants some vendors offer up the rarest fishes and corals found in saltwater. Read more »

My Claim to Fame? Or Lost Opportunity?
Well, I’m not quite sure how I feel about this one. Happily annoyed, let’s say.
Back in 2010 I performed a DIY LED build, when they were just beginning to ramp up in popularity. I’ve posted about it around here before. One of the biggest things about the DIY route I recognized at the time was the finished product just didn’t look very… pretty. So my engineering brain quickly went to work and I dreamed up some ways to address this aspect. I did plan on hanging these in my living room, after all. Read more »
