All-in-one nano tanks, with rimless styling and clip on LED lights are popping up like crazy, but this leaves some hobbyists missing the styling of the old cubes and their built-in hoods. JBJ seems to be aiming at this crowd by upping their line of old style nano tanks with new tech LED lighting built-in.
Tunze announced recently that the old double-pump 9440 protein skimmer will be replaced with a new, more efficient, single pump version with the designation DOC 9430. This new design achieves nearly the same rating, but it’s single pump does it with a power savings over the old twin-pumps and this also means fewer parts to fail and less to clean.

The stylish lines of the suspension wires that hold the little MR16 LED bulbs over their high end aquariums are truly a one of a kind solution, and this week Aquamedic announced that they will be available on their own as the Spotfix.
There’s been a lot of buzz lately about GHL’s first entry into the lighting market, and this week I finally learned of its name, Mitras LED. This beautifully sculpted eight channel LED will be fully controllable with eight channels of control which I also got a look at today via a picture of the control software.

This week, German manufacturer, SMD Aquaristik announced a new offering in their high-end LED segment that has interchangeable faceplates for individual design styling. These plates are make the fixture customizeable to match the looks of any reef aquarium, and with their history in RGB diodes, I’m sure it will also pack in a powerful spectrum.
