Oculus Aquatics has always been one of my favorite wholesalers to drool over, and lately they have been packing in the Austalian livestock like crazy. Today they announced yet another shipment from the Great Barrier Reef and included in this one is an intense deresa clam. This one has hints of the coloration you would normally only see out of ORA’s tradacnids.

Hot Red Carpet Anemone at Exotic Reef Imports
I really enjoy watching the amazing photos posted by our industries livestock wholesalers, ad on any given day, I’m amazed at the colors they manage to bring in. Tonight a bright, fire red carpet Anemone caught my eye from Exotic Reef Imports that has unusually bright coloration. Cuttlefish Use Principles of Gestalt Theory to Pick Camouflage
A recent study found that cuttlefish vision is much more complicated than previously thought, and that they actually use principles of the famous Gestalt Theory to fill in the gaps in incomplete images and make them whole. This means that they can pick the perfect camouflage without seeing the entirety of the scene they are trying to blend in to.
