Sunbrite Lets Loose iPhone Controlled F-Series LED Lighting

SBF-Series800

Just when thought I had seen it all in aquarium LED lighting, Sunbrite is here to shake things up with an all new light, dubbed the F-Series, that can be controlled by an iPhone. Add to this that these lights are designed to replace 400 Watt metal halides, and you have a serious contender.

The first and may notable feature of the F-Series LED is of course the fact that it can be controlled by an iPhone, but the features don’t stop there. Dimming and storm modes were of course not left out, but it’s the range of diode colors that really caught my eye. The F-Series LEDs will be packing Cree XPG LEDs with Red, 440nm Actinic, 470nm Actinic, Green, White, and UV to get the perfect color mix for any eye. They will be available in a broad range of sizes including 36″,48″, 60″, and 72″.

I haven’t found details as far as diode combinations for all sizes, but the 36″ model will be packing 18 white, 5 red, 3 green, 7 uv, 15 440nm actinic, and 12 470 actinic LEDs. It’s also being boasted that 36″ model will be able to pound down 200 PAR on the bottom of a 24″ deep 65 gallon tank which is a pretty impressive feat.

It’s said that the prototype will be on display at Reefstock 2012, coming up next month, and I will be sure to snag some up close pictures for you then.

Introducing SunBrite Multi-Colored LED System [Prototype]
The first wi-fi integrated LED system in the market!

The SunBrite F-Series fixtures will come in 36″,48″, 60″, and 72″ with Cree XPG 5W LEDS for deeper penetration. The 36″ fixture will have 18 white, 5 red, 3 green, 7 uv, 15 440nm actinic, and 12 470 actinic LEDs give you an option to modify the look of your tank. The fixtures will provide as much light as a 400w metal halide but uses less than half the electricity and produces far less heat due to our built in heat sink.
